Boost the Signal, Win a Prize! by Norma Gallien

It's our popular Invite/Share/Tweet Thread!

We do this before every event we put on: help us boost the signal on Facebook and you could win some loot from our gaming prizes pool!

Invite/share/tweet our event and let us know what you did by replying to the thread on Facebook. One entry per social media channel, up to a maximum of 3. Here's what to do:

1) Invite at least 10 gamer friends who will be in Seattle during PAX weekend to this Facebook event. If you invite significantly more than 10, let us know and we may just throw an extra entry (or three) into the pot for you.

2) Share the event on Facebook and/or post to your Facebook page with ftwevents.com somewhere in the post (it should automatically pick up the correct picture if you do this).

3) Tweet that you're going to the event, making sure to include ftwevents.com and/or @ftweventssea (our twitter handle) somewhere in the Tweet.

That's it! Good luck. Winner(s) to be announced on the night of the event. The more people who participate, the more stuff will be diverted to this prize pool. Also, if you have other preferred ways of spreading the word (Instagram? etc.) let us know and we'll give you credit.

Top of the World Update for August 9th! by Matt Winberry

Hello gaming community! It's Matt at FTW Events here with a quick update.

First of all, ticket sales: Today, with over 3 weeks to go, we surpassed our headcount for last year's PAX event. The non-procrastinator tier of General Admission tickets is over 50% sold out, and there are only 3 of the original 15 non-procrastinator VIP tickets left. Don't have yours yet? Get them now!

Procurement: We have pledges from the following publishers already: Calliope Games, Cheapass Games, Lone Shark Games, Passport Game Studios, R&R Games, Slugfest Games and USAOpoly. Most of the publishers are in Gen Con scramble mode right now, so I expect that some of our stalwarts will get on board once this weekend's Con is behind them.

We hope you're enjoying your summer, and we look forward to seeing you on the 1st!

We're working hard to make this event our best yet. Look for more details soon on raffle prizes, our pop up game store and something special in celebration of PAX weekend!

Happy International Tabletop Day! by Norma Gallien

Happy International Tabletop Day!

ITTD is hosted by the fine folks at Geek & Sundry, be sure to support them as they and Extra Life play to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network, which includes our very own beneficiary of late: the Seattle Children’s Hospital.

This year’s theme is “How Did Board Games Change Your Life.” Did you know that International Tabletop day inspired the creation of FTW Events? The very first event put on by FTW Events (then known as Dawgsled Events) was on International Tabletop day in 2013. We’ve grown so much since then: with larger and multiple events throughout the year, we remain ever committed to using the power of board gaming for good!

We’ll be joining everyone today in rolling dice, placing tiles, moving minis, choosing cards, and everything else in between, as we reflect on this crazy and wonderful hobby.

How did board games change your life?

Last month, we had our first event of the year: a Night of Board Gaming for Good on Top of the World, ComiCon Edition. Last week, we were honored to present a check donation to the Imagine Guild and to the Seattle Children's Hospital. Receiving the check was Jennifer Kramer, a representative from the Imagine Guild and Seattle Children's Hospital, during our monthly Monday game night at the Columbia Tower.

The amount was nothing to sneeze at and it will all go to the hospital's Uncompensated Care program, towards helping kids and their families at Seattle Children's.

You did this! We know we've said it before, but we can't say it enough: thank you for making it possible.

Ready to do it again in September? We are.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you. by Norma Gallien

As we wrap up another incredible event we are blown away by how much fun we had and how humbling it was to see gamers giving so wholeheartedly.

Thank you so much to our amazing sponsors who made up that phenomenal table of prizes, our guests of honor, our volunteers, the staff at the Columbia Tower, The Imagine Guild, Seattle Children's Hospital, and everyone who made the evening possible. Most especially, a very big thank you to all of you who came and made a difference in a child's life.

You are awesome.

We can't wait to do it again in Sept for PAX Prime!
